use presenter view

Since this is a new feature in PowerPoint 2003, many people don't use it. Presenter View allows you to have an Outline and Notes on your Laptop/Desktop screen, and the presentation on the Projector screen, as well as providing advanced controls.

To enable Presenter View in a presentation, select Slide Show | Setup Show and click the button that says "Show Presenter View." Make sure that you choose to show the presentation on the secondary monitor, not the primary.
