freeze panes

You may often create or use a worksheet, such as a budget, where you will have both rows and columns that you always want visible. When this happens, you will want to create "header" rows and columns. To do this, select the cell immediately below and to the right of the rows and columns you want as headers [i.e., selecting D6 will make horiztonal and vertical headers of rows 1-5 and columns A-C]. Then click on the Window menu and select Freeze Panes.
