I am so thankful for Dan's servant heart. It is people like him who keep teams up and running and we could not be able to function without him!! Thanks for all of your hard work, Dan.

Michelle Williams, Adminstrative & Campus Staff, CO Brazil
Hey Dan, thanks for all you do for us! Your help with my computer questions moves not only me forward, but our whole team! I'm glad I don't have to spend hours trying to figure out something that only takes you a few minutes :) Thanks for serving us the way you do!

Kent Bailey, Managing Director, CO Brazil
Just a word of thanks.  I’m in the airport in Santiago , Chile [en route to Australia ] and have been using the new computer for a couple of days now and I’m really liking it.  Thanks for getting me going in this direction....I appreciate all you do to help us all move forward.

Luke Niday, Administrator, CO Augusta
Without Dan our ministry would be like a few stray bb’s trying to reach to the ends of the earth but with Dan we are able to link together and reach the ends of the earth like a net taking in all the areas in between along the way. His help in keeping the websites running help keep our staff in touch with one another from around the world. His up keep of the databases allows me to find a co staff person in Minneapolis , Minnesota or in Lexington , Kentucky with the click of a few keys. This has provided us with tools to help one another Glorify God by reaching the campus for the lost world. Just this past year I received a call from 2 guys who were starting a CO ministry at Indiana University at Purdue University . IUPUI or something like that. This school is a commuter school much like Augusta State University . These guys through Dan were able to get in touch with Me and the came down and we showed them how our ministry works. It was a blast to see God use us to help reach students at IUPUI.

Amanda Skinner, International Point Person, CO Ministries
As the stateside administrative assistant for our teams in Brazil , Australia , and Central Asia , I communicate with our overseas missionaries daily.  I get an average of 30-50 emails per day that I must answer in a timely manner.  If my computer shuts down, it shuts down my ability to work!  Without Dan to fix my computer, much of my job would go undone.  On behalf of our missionaries in three different countries, I book flights, apply for visas, email financial reports, plan short term missions trips, ship packages, and send out newsletters – and almost all of these tasks are done on my computer or via my computer.  Dan also purchases and sets up computers for our missionaries that are compatible with our office computers; this makes our work more efficient and causes less “technical difficulties.”  Without Dan, stateside administrative support for our overseas missionaries would be just about impossible.

Jenny Eastman, Campus Staff, CO Birmingham
I use my computer to send emails to the students on my campus.  West Georgia has over 11,000 students and so the most efficient way to get the word out about weekly Campus Outreach events is through email.  A few weeks ago my email would not work so I could not send an email to let students know we were having a campus meeting.  Dan spent 2 hours on the phone with me helping me fix my email problem.  So now I can send a mass email to all the students involved at West Georgia letting them know when we have events for them to come and learn about a their relationship with Christ.

Bill White, Director of Training & Missionary Care, CO Ministries
Dan is an invaluable team member and crucially important to my personal ministry at CampusOutreach, as well as the overall ministry at large.  In my role of training and resourcing our overseas missionaries, I am in constant communication with our staff on a daily basis, through the computer.  I also use a computer to create and store training documents and materials for our staff.  Though my personal computer skills and knowledge are limited, I’m not hindered in my use of a computer in ministry because of Dan’s availability and expertise.  There have been countless occasions where Dan has immediately fixed a malfunction on my computer that might have left me without it for days.  He has a rare combination of technical expertise and a servant’s heart.  Dan plays a crucial role in the work we do in furthering God’s kingdom through our ministry, literally all over the world.

Bobby Pepiot, Administrator, CO Lexington
Having a computer has allowed me to be more effective in preparing bible studies, communicating with staff and supporters, documenting conversations with students, preparing newsletters and many other areas. Dan plays a key role in this by using his gifts to make sure we are using the technology that will best suit our cause. Dan has been a great resource for us through franchising a new ministry. With out his knowledge and skills this process would be a lot more complicated and time consuming. We would have to spend more time transferring information and tracking supporters then getting on the campus and building laborers.

Heather Dykstra, Manager of Communication & Administration, CO Charlotte
Dan has been a huge part of our ministry here in North Carolina by helping our staff stay connected to one another, to their supporters and to other Campus Outreach ministries across the world!  He has been an intricate part of our ministry during the last year as we have sought to improve email and web communications for our staff and supporters.  We praise the Lord often for his partnership with us as we extend the Gospel across the world!

Jon Elam, Campus Staff, CO Brazil
Dan's technical assistance is quite helpful to me on the field. We use a good bit of multi-media and, truthfully, I wouldn't understand how to use a lot of it without Dan. We have seen how the Post-Modern generation of lost college students respond to media (I mean, we grew up on it!), and Dan is an indirect part of our outreach here in Brazil as he laborers with us in Birmingham. Thanks for supporting him - and us, too, for that matter!

Bryan Brown, Director, CO Australia
I do not function on a day to day basis without using my computer.  All personal and ministry information is now contained on my computer.  If I were to lose it – I would literally lose years of work. Dan help me purchase computers, overhead projectors and software for me and our staff at reasonable costs – much lower than I could do myself and it saved me hours of time looking. The network and server that he set up has also been of great value to me and my team. Without Dan, I would be spending a lot of hours researching, purchasing, and resourcing myself and our staff. When I am in the office, no one is usually able to help me more than Dan for the immediate needs of communication or resourcing needed when coming in from overseas.  He has also been very quick in answering questions and solving problems that I face in areas of technology and service. Thanks for what you do Dan.

Steve Lindenmeyer, Area Director, CO Khon Kaen
Dan serves a very important role in helping us fulfill our mission of Building Laborers on the Campus For the Lost World.  His expertise in the area of computers and modern technology helps us keep up to speed in this information age.  As a missionary serving overseas in Thailand this is an invaluable asset and resource.  I must admit, our lives as missionaries are much more convenient with the use of modern day technology such as email, internet, net phones etc.  But even more importantly I believe that modern technology is helping us reach people for Christ that we couldn’t reach previously.  Simply put, Dan’s day to day dealing with computers and information technology is helping build laborers around the world. If Dan wasn’t giving his time and attention to this task on a daily basis then each of us missionaries on the field would be required to give more towards this area.  This would pull us away from our primary task of evangelizing and discipling nationals.  So Dan plays a key part behind the scenes to keep us on the front lines. Dan, I do appreciate all your hard work and how it helps us Build Laborers around the world.

Kent Bailey, Managing Director, CO Brazil
Although the basic means of ministry [Word, prayer, Holy Spirit, etc. have not changed since the time of Jesus, the technological tools that are available to aid in ministry today are essential.  Dan Barber has been an incredible asset to our International Staff in facing a complexity of issues on 4 continents.  The communication between the teams that Dan has facilitated has moved the Kingdom forward in a major way.  When a poor decision in the technology area can cost a lot of time, money and effectiveness, it is key to have someone like Dan who is leading us forward.

April McGaughey, Women's Shepherd, CO Birmingham
Most everything you do on a moment by moment basis affects me and makes me more successful!  Thanks for all your help.  I’m sorry that I am waiting till now to really say that…but I am so grateful to the Lord for you. Because I am communicating every week and sometimes everyday with 8 staff women, 2 administrators, 4 area directors, and one director I am on my computer for a good portion of my time each day.  If I did not have you I would have to troubleshoot all my computer issues myself, which I clearly do not have time for and if this were the case, I would not use a computer.  You have changed my way of thinking about computers and technology and have taught me what I need to know in order to enhance communication between staff and supporters which has made my ministry more fruitful and purposeful on a daily basis.  You have also been available to me (probably more than you wish) to help troubleshoot problems with my computer or with others in order to get projects or resources into the hands of the women I lead on a daily basis.  Not only do you help me, but your life and heart for serving the Lord have been a challenge to me and God has used you to show me a Christ-like example of the meaning of Mark 10:45 –“Even the son of man did not come to be served but to serve.”  Supporters, thank you for giving to Dan’s ministry through your prayers and finances!  My life and ministry are forever changed and the kingdom of God is advancing because of you!

Kara Lockhart, Contingent Staff, CO Khon Kaen
I am just starting support but the computer and e-mail have been very important to me already. I use it to communicate with the staff and to organize my support information. Dan has taught me how to organize my supporter information on the computer and has set it up for me. He has come to our apartment more than once to work on our internet system fix any problem we had. He has been very helpful to us.

Nathan Tutor, Director of Operations, CO Birmingham
I believe that Dan’s ministry to the Campus Outreach staff and macro-ministry is incredibly underrated and important.  In a world where we have categorically decided to use computers and technology to communicate, resource, and reach-out, it is essential that we employ the support services necessary to keep up with the ever-changing issues with technology.  Dan is overworked and underpaid, yet completely committed to his ministry and work for Campus Outreach.  I have time and again been so impressed and inspired by his desire to stay on top of the networking issues we face and to be mindful of how these issues practically affect the staff on the field and how he can help them. Dan is essential to our ministry and I wish there was a way to subsidize his salary. As the Director of Operations for COB, I am daily confronted of the importance of Dan’s work.  The iron down side to Dan’s performance is that he usually does his job so well that staff are unaware of the importance of his job.  We take our networking and technology for granted so much and are ignorant of the behind the scenes and after hours work that Dan does to keep us moving forwards.  Plus the fact that most staff don’t know what Dan is talking about most of the time because of our techno-ignorance, we underestimate his impact on our daily work productivity. Supporters, please give to Dan and his ministry to keep him laboring for us.

John Hunt, Community Director, CO Thailand
Without a doubt, we are in a technical age – whether we like it or not (and some of us dislike it more than others). The impact of this results in the use of electronic equipment and computers for every task in our ministry. So often we, as staff of Campus Outreach, find ourselves using technology that we cannot hope to understand. Woe to us if something goes wrong – and with highly complicated machinery and programs, this is almost inevitable. This is why I view Dan’s job as invaluable to our ministry. He keeps the nuts and bolts of all these difficult things well oiled for us so that we are not consumed by all of this. And I know that Dan’s aim is to do more than that – he aims to use all of the technical resources he can garner to unite Campus Outreach in our worldwide effort. I know that in many ways Dan’s job seems ‘unglamorous’ in terms of ministry, but without Dan’s persistence in excellence behind the scenes, the staff of CO all over the world would be consumed with finding people to fill his shoes. In my opinion, we don’t just need someone like Dan to fill this position, we need Dan there. Because Dan doesn’t just have a nerdy bent to tinker with computers for the sake of tinkering, he has a passion for reaching students with the gospel and uses his talents toward that end. Dan probably tires of my constant bombardment of technical questions – both personal and ministry related – but he never shows this and is always eager to help move us ahead.

Olan Stubbs, Managing Director, CO Birmingham
Dan’s work on buying and servicing our computers is really invaluable.  Having to lead over 30 staff on 8 different campuses in 2 different states is very hard.  An email system that works is really key.  Dan is always availaiable and willing to work overtime so that I can communicate with our staff.  Also, so many of the talks and presentations we use now are also on power point and Dan helps with that. Dan, thanks man.

Brian Lane, Campus Staff, CO Brazil
The labor that you have provided has been crucial for our communication of what God is doing here. We are able to keep communications lines open for our supporters. It has been so helpful keeping people in the US connected w/ our ministry here in Brazil . You have kept us up to date on all the new software which has helped communicate the gospel for our church plant and through our projects and retreats. I believe if there were no one doing your job we would spend a lot of time and money being ineffective. I am very thankful to have you serving the kingdom of God through this highly needed ministry. Thanks man.
