a malagasy proverb

"When the king reigns, it is thanks to the people; when a river sings it is thanks to the stones."

I think he idea of this proverb is correct: great things only achieve greatness because of what lies underneath. A king is no king without people, and a river cannot flow without a gorge to channel it.

In Christendom, rather than seeking to steal glory from God and keep it for our own, we give all thanks to God, who gives life and breath to all things, and sustains all things by His Word of power. This is no exception.

The purpose of this section is three-fold:

  • For Christ to be glorified as people read the encouragement of others
  • For Dan to be encouraged as he serves in the background
  • For those who support Dan to see the fruit of the giving and rejoice
hebrews 13:3

But encourage one another daily, so long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
