microsoft windows

Windows XP has been around now since 2002. In the Birmingham Office, we standardize on Windows XP Professional. Windows XP is the most stable and versatile operating system on the market today for consumers manufactured by Microsoft.

Windows XP Professional
Microsoft Windows XP is the standard for every new computer purchased today. You won't find new computers with Windows 2000 or other operating system typically. Don't know which Windows XP edition is right for you? Compare them.

I recommend Windows XP Professional for everyone who's computer can support it. You will experience less problems, and it is easier to fix and troubleshoot. However, if you are upgrading from Windows 95, 98, 98SE, or ME, know that some or all of your programs may not work and you may have to purchases upgrades for them in order to use them again.

Get Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player
Windows Media Player, since it is installed on virtually everyone's computer already, is a great way to distribute your media files, whether they are audio or video.

I recommend using Windows Media Player in conjunction with Windows Media Encoder to create files to distribute to others.

wmp button on your site

If you have any Windows Media files on your website, you might want to make sure and have a Get Windows Media Player button somewhere in the HTML code, so that people who don't have Windows Media Player, or who have older versions of Media Player, can download it. Here is what it looks like. An example is displayed in the table to the left.
