weather watcher

Almost everyone I know has some sort of weather program on their computer. The problem? Many weather programs take up too many computer resources. If you are using Firefox, there is a better solution on the Firefox page. Weather Watcher is a simple, easy-to-use program that lets you view maps, have multiple ZIP codes and cities, and forecasts, all within one icon in the system tray. The best part? It doesn't take up a lot of system resources, and is relatively stable.

initial settings

If you are installing or using Weather Watcher for the first time, you may be wondering what initial settings you should select. Here are a few you should check:

  • General
    Start Minimized
    Retrieve Forecasts
    Pause for 10 seconds...
    Load When Windows Starts
  • Active City
    Automatically Retrieve...
  • AutoUpdate
    Enable AutoUpdate
    Only download updates...

The best icon font I have found thus far on the Tray Icon page is to use Arial Narrow, 11pt, Bold.
